Many times, is very hard to motivate students about the importance of mathematics studies in their lives. More than complex numbers and formulations, that at first sight do not arouse much enthusiasm, mathematics can be seen as a different way of seeing the world. In this sense, many books and movies can help to awaken or further increase the interest to know the world behind mathematics.
''The Parrot's Theorem'', written by Denis Guedj, is an example of a remarkable book. From this book, I discovered many interesting episodes of math story. I recommend it for anyone that is looking for a different perspective of math story. Likewise, I recommend ''The Signal and the Noise'', written by Nate Silver, for those interested in knowing mathematical models. Several mathematical models are presented in this book through non-numerical and interesting explanations.
